Estimate our fees, outlays and Revenue Scotland tax on buying or selling a home in Scotland. Adjust the figures and the running total updates as you go.
How this is worked out. The legal fee is a fixed amount set by the price of the property: £880 up to £100,000, £930 to £200,000, £1,080 to £300,000, £1,230 to £450,000, and £1,380 to £600,000, in each case plus VAT at 20% and outlays. Registration dues follow the Registers of Scotland banded scale (for example, a £250,000 purchase is £530). Land and Buildings Transaction Tax is charged in progressive bands by Revenue Scotland, and the Additional Dwelling Supplement, where it applies, is 8% of the whole price on purchases of £40,000 or more.
